Project Configuration Settings – Part 1

The Project Configuration section in QPunch allows project managers to enable or disable specific features within a project. These settings control how users interact with tasks, calendars, time tracking, and more. Each option is available as a toggle, giving managers full control over the project’s workflow behavior.

To access these settings:

  1. Go to the QPunch Home Page
  2. Click on the Project Settings icon.
  3. Navigate to the Project Configuration section.
  4. Scroll to view and update each permission toggle.

Additionally, to change any permission setting, go to Project Settings > Project Configuration, then toggle the specific permission ON or OFF based on your project needs.

Below is a list of all configuration permissions and their functions:

Task Move

Purpose: The Task move toggle controls whether tasks can be moved between swim lanes on the Kanban board.

  • If the Task move permission is toggled off.
  • The task movement will be locked, and the tasks will remain fixed in their assigned lanes until the permission is turned on.

To Enable Task Move:

  • Go to Project Settings > Project Configuration, and turn ON the Task Move toggle.
  • Users can now freely drag and drop tasks between swim the lanes.

Weekends Locked

Purpose: The Weekends Locked toggle helps to configure whether tasks can be assigned on the selected weekends for the project.

  • If the Weekends Locked toggle is turned on weekends will be locked in that project.
  • And the users will not be able to assign tasks for those days as the date and hour calculations will be excluded for those days.
  • To disable the Weekends Locked Go to Project Settings > Project Configuration and turn OFF the toggle.
  • Now you will have the permission to assign tasks on weekends, and the hours for the weekends will also be counted in the task duration.

Create & Edit Category

Purpose: The Create & Edit Category toggle allows users to decide whether they want to create or edit task categories or not.

  • If the Create & Edit Category permission is toggled off.
  • The users won’t be able add any new categories or update existing categories.
  • To enable Create & Edit Category, Go to Project Settings > Project Configuration and turn ON the toggle.
  • Now the users will be able to add new categories or update existing categories.

Create & Edit Label

Purpose: The Create & Edit Label toggle allows users to decide whether they want to create or edit task labels or not.

  • If the Create & Edit Label permission is toggled off.
  • The users won’t be able to add any new Label or update existing Label.
  • To enable Create & Edit Label, go to Project Settings > Project Configuration and turn ON the toggle.
  • Now the users will be able to add new Label or update existing Label.

Leave Locks

Purpose: This permission helps the manager decide whether tasks can be assigned during approved leaves.

  • If Leave Locks permission is enabled.
  • The task assignment will be blocked for dates when users are on approved leave.
  • To disable Leave Locks, go to Project Settings > Project Configuration and turn OFF the toggle.
  • Now the tasks can still be assigned to users even on their approved leave days.

Show Team Calendar

Purpose: Controls whether all the team tasks are visible to other teams in the calendar view.

  • If the Show Team Calendar permission is enabled.
  • Users will be able to view the entire team’s tasks in the calendar view by day, week, or month.
  • To disable the permission, go to Project Settings > Project Configuration and turn OFF the toggle.
  • Users will be able to only see their own assigned tasks in the calendar view.
